Default Tires spinning on the wheels on track

Tone ever have an issue of the tire spinning on the wheel?? I've heard of drag racing guys having this issue with slicks and a lot of power, but not a stock power s2k obstreperous tires

On my way to Hallett a few weeks ago, I picked up a nail. Was able to patch it at the track Saturday morning. Well I marked the tire at the valve stem so I wouldn't have to re balance. Looking the car over an noticed they weren't aligned any more. It move a good amount!!

I can spin a 205 Toyo RR mounted on a 15x7 on my SpecE30. The reality is that you would be better off just balancing your rims and then just mounting and unmounting tires.

I'm assuming you removed the tire from the wheel to patch the nail? If the place that did it used a lot of tire lube, it can and will cause the wheel to spin in the tire. It's a very weird feeling when it happens. Can't really describe it but I've mistaken it for brake issues before.

I think the only solution is slow down John. Give us spec2k backmarkers a chance...

In this case it's looks like he should slow down more slowly
Seriously though, did you take it directly from the tire shop to the track?
I'm thinking it would probably take a while for the tire lube to dry out, after that it should stick better to the rim.

Wouldn't it be easier (and more logical) to have the tire spin while BRAKING rather than accelerating?

These cars (NA) aren't torques monster but can be rather aggressive while braking.

I patched it myself at the track Sat morning lol. The tire was on the RR all weekend, but looking at it, it does look like is spun in the direction of braking, not accelerating

yeah, it's definitely moving from braking not acceleration. was that the only tire that moved?

i've marked my tires at the track before just to see if there was any movement but i didn't get any. maybe i need to brake harder!
