Agree with Gary that the only real fix for very short brake life on these cars is a BBK. The stock brakes on the S2000 work brilliantly for the most part from a performance standpoint but there's just not a lot of thermal mass so things get *hot* and wear rates accelerate exponentially with excessive heat. ME20 is generally considered a very long wearing compound rivaling some endurance compounds so you must be getting things seriously toasty if you're cooking them in 3-4 days but your pace at Laguna would explain that . We did have PFC 08's endurance compound made in the stock front pad shape (PERFORMANCE FRICTION BRAKE PADS 0829.08.16.44 HONDA S2000 FRONT *S2KI INTRODUCTORY SALE*) which may be worth a shot depending on how soon you are looking to pull the trigger on a BBK.

As far as tires go the Hankook RS4 is one of the current best options for consistent long lasting 200UTQG tires.

The other Gary drove my car with exact same setup and achieved 1:47 easily. I was planning to hit that lap time first and then upgrade. But based on what you folk's suggestion, I placed the order for my BBK and bigger tires.

Good call. I'm probably one of the very few that upgraded and got a BBK and wheels before I got colilovers - best decision from an operating cost, time, and convenience standpoint. When you get a BBK you'll really understand the limitations and feel the difference versus the stock system.

Thanks, folks for the advice!!! I got a Wilwood BBK from SakeBomb Garage with DS2500 pads, and had to upgrade my tires to 255/17 to give space to the BBK. With the new kit and new RS4 tires, I can easily make 1:44-1:45 in Laguna! Very interesting upgrade! Although with the bigger tire size, I felt my car doesn't have the balance as good as the original OEM set up. I am not sure if I need to upgrade my sway bar or my spring rate. Looks like need another months or so to figure it out
