Default Those with alignment from westend

Just got back from track event from big willow, this is targeting those who got a light track alignment spec (level 3) from westend. I'm trying to figure out why my rear end is light and I'm drifting the car all over the place, controlled drifting though. I'm trying to target the problem before I head up to laguna seca. Basically, the alignment gave me some toe in and camber on the rear, the rear is more predictable now (no more stap oversteer) but it's slippery yet easily controllable. I'm going to call the alignment shop on monday, but the question is killing me on the loose rear end I figured the alignment will most likely be the answer, although I have changed things other than alignment, changed to rear diffuser, from street to competitive tires, corner weighted. I pulled a time of 1:39.xx on victoracers, tire pressures were 34 front, 36 rear, running 225/50 front, 245.45 rear, no power mods.

Its the tire size combo you have thats causing your oversteer bias. You could go for a stiffer bar up front or 265s in the rear to even it out. Hopefully the pressures you mention are your hot pressures and not your cold pressures. If thats your cold pressure then you definetly need to lower your rear pressure. Either way you may want to try and get the pressures a little closer to each other.

Yea, those are hot pressures. I was talking to a few BMW club racers and they like to run the old victoracers at 38 hot all around. I dunno, I was having even tire wear and from what others said that followed behind me...they said the car hooked up but I wish I had in car video showing my hand movements constantly catching the car, but much more controlled than before where it would jump out on me. I was recommend from a friend at the track to run a larger front bar to induce some understeer but after being able to control the oversteer now, it's a blast to drive the car and literally slide in and out of turns in control instead of going too deep and not being able to get on the power all the way b/c the car is pushing. I was hoping the use of a rear wing would keep it planted more. I dunno. I want to figure things out before I head up to laguna seca before the end of the month.

update: Darren at westend recommended adjustable sway bars and softer springs for my application. I'll be needing sticker tires for 10kg springs. Oh well.

I had the same problem you did when I first got my alignment dialed in. Then one day at the track I installed the comptech non-adjustable swaybar and dropped my laptime by 8 seconds. I was on 205/245 RA-1s and I went from massive oversteer all the time to moderate midcorner and exit understeer. I bumped up my tires sizes to 235/275 and it feels perfectly balanced with the swaybar. Stock (62k miles) shocks and springs.

You're talking about a front sway-bar correct?
