Only two S2000s today
(Although I do love it when I can get six points for being last!! )
It wasn't raining too hard, but the track was SLIPPERY!!! We were all spinning out all over the place. (Except Aaron who tried as hard as he could to get the rear end to kick out on his Evo, but the damn thing wouldn't budge!) The difference that the AWD makes in the rain is INCREDIBLE! I couldn't keep my S2k straight unless I drove like a grandmother. In Aaron's Evo, It didn't even feel like the track was wet. (He took pity on my slippin' and slidin' and let me drive his car.) If I lived in a climate where rain was common, I'd be giving serious thought to an Evo right now.
I did get to take a few laps with Richard, so watch out when it dries out... he showed me the "secret" to his speed.
Don't ask me to tell you... I'm not tellin'!!!
It was kinda fun, but our car was NOT made for the rain.
See y'all at Buttonwillow... NO RAIN!!!

Everyone who's there is going to get a big bump in their car-control skills.

Excellent day . Just enough rain to make it wet and slippery, had to run the wipers most of the time but no heavy downpours (except the last session which I sat out) to soak you with the window down. I tried but couldn't drift like everyone else . The bald RA1's, once they break away the grip is zero, so round and round . One even corded (seems I always end my tires at Streets; wonder what it would be like on fresh tires? ) In one session the sun came out and a drier line started to develop, and I got to 1:35.6xx, but an E36 M3 got me by .3 sec (don't know what tires he had, but seemed faster than stock on the straits too), but not any of the Evos nor John in his Z06.
Jack you are right, it was a great learning day for traction sensing and car control, and that's why I went even though it was very heavy rain in San Diego at 4:15 this morning when I left.... almost turned back when I got to 15, but didn't want to stand up Drew. Drew will be at least 3 seconds faster next time.
