Hey guys, i really need your help

I am currently racing my s2000 with Federals FZ201 medium compound and at times when the tires have full grip my AST 4100 (7kg/8kg springs) have difficulty pushing the tires on the road. I found a really good deal on some TEIN Flex coilovers which have a more aggresive valving and spring set..(10kg/12kg springs)
I am really on a dillema if they are going to perform better or worse than my ASTs in the track.Revalving my ASTs with a new set of springs is not an option where i am..My ASTs are monotube by the way while the flex are dual tube.

I do daily driving with the car (with a different set of wheels/tires (AD08r)
I do have a high tollerance for stiff suspension in the road. I dont mind the extra stiffness (but not lets say 15kg+ springs).

What do you guys suggest? which one of the two is going to serve me better in the track? Should i pass on the Tein Flex and stick with my ASTs?

should i just go with stiffer springs on the AST? say 9/10kg

AST's will be worlds better than the low end Teins.
Id put on some 13k/11k springs.......those soft rates are way too low

I'd venture to say low end AST's will be miles better then High End Teins.

The only Tein i dont consider low end and on the level of buddyclub, megan, k sport, etc is the SRC model

What exactly is the problem?

"Pushing the tires on the road" is not very descriptive.

What exactly is the car doing that you are unhappy with?

Do you have dyno curves of your AST damper? And which setting you are using?

Do you have aero?

Have you taken tire temperatures?

Also what is your alignment?

What is your ride height set at? I know these dampers have limited rear bump travel - a common s2000 problem (the Ohlins DFVs have the same problem, although I don't know how they compare to the ASTs).

This is why the stock Showas have an external reservoir - it helps out a lot with the rear bump travel.

All the good stuff worth having has either an external or remote reservoir. The only reason not to have one is if you're competing in NASA TTC and don't want to take the extra points for having an external reservoir.

Megan coilovers are craptastic...Maybe you meant Mugen? Cause Megan should not be in that list with Buddyclub, or Ksport.
Tein is definitely better than Megan.
