Called tirerack for some clarification. Even thought my order confirmation stated 3/29, the manufacturer delayed the availability date to 4/8. That is for all orders in the cue waiting to be filled AND any new orders. I did not ask what availability date meant, available at BFG to ship to TR, available at TR for shipping to customers, or shipped to customer. Oh well, i have fairly fresh Z1's from last year to fall back on and don't "need" new tires. I was looking forward to trying them to see if the hype is real by "turning zeros to heros", I need all the help i can get! Also since BFG supports contingency with a potentially competitive tire.

Was browsing tire rack today and noticed the RE-11a's are pretty affordable. Doesn't seem like there are many reviews out there but I'm interested to see how these stack up against the RS-3, ZII's, Rivals.

Jon

spill the zII info. what did they prefer over the z1s. I don't want you to give your secrets, but it would be nice to know what observations you made, and what you did to address them.

Many? There aren't any reviews from what I know....they just hit US port and customs in the last couple of days--that's why TR's specs are incomplete. I suspect GRM and TR will team up to do a comparison in the next couple of months.

This was the only one I found and it was quite vague, only that they're better than their predecessor http://www.prima-racing.com/the-new-...k-s2000-irene/

my guess is that unless they have a really awesome compound and belt package, they aren't going to be competitive with the other offerings due to shoulder/tread block design.

nice find! but one should take that with a grain of salt, as it's a suspect Bridgestone-sponsored event. Not surprised they are faster than the RE-11....

Here's hoping GRM/TR compares the new version of each tire (plus the Rival) against each respective old version and the Hoosier A6.

Anyone besides me see the GRM pre-review on the Rivals? I guess they are having a full test and review in the next one!
