NP just trying to keep info in the most appropriate buckets for future reference. There are cross overs and blurred lines all over the place.

Just noticed the Direzza ZII was on sale at the rack. Who's buying?

near 30$ over the RS3? I guess it could be your rain tire assuming it performs like the Z1.

My understanding is that these are the replacements for the Star Specs. Over the next couple of months, more tires will be out. It may be worth waiting to hear/read about initial impressions...

EDIT ... They look a lot like the late RE01-Rs

They are the new Dunlop Direzza Z2 (not star spec). They will probably release a star spec version if they decide to make a change to the tire like they did the Z1's. Dunlop released their tires in this order.

Dunlop Direzza Z1-->Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec-->Dunlop Direzza Z2

They claim better dry performance according to the data on the Japanese site. Who knows how well they will/can be. I know that I preferred the Z1s over the RS3, so my guess will be that they will perform way better than the RS3 and marginally better than the Z1.

Thanks! Has grassroots done any testing yet? Might of found my tires for this season. I was already debating starspecs since ill be a single driver most of the year.

nobody (independent) has done any tire testing as of yet. There is still the BFG, Bridgestone RE11A, and Kumho V720 to come out in the next few weeks before any real testing can be assessed.

Thanks for the info. I'm still holding out until right before I start racing again in March. Hopefully someone will post tire test up when they do them. Sucks we don't have a standard 1 tire like the Hoosiers guys do. We have to take a gamble on what tire to run.
