Can't argue with the price either, especially compared to a set of Star Specs.

Forgot my other question, at stock ride height do the fender tabs still have to be rolled to clear a set of 255s?
let us know how those do!

Better to be safe than sorry with the fender tabs. Stock suspension would likely roll enough to rub the tabs but I have never tried it. Ubber stiff FSB might keep you off them but it's cheaper to roll the tabs than replace 2 cut tires.. .

hmm, thwarted by TSW inventory. I really want the Nurburgring wheels in 17x9 in bronze, but they don't seem to be available. =/

I called Discount Tire Direct and they ordered them for me even though they didn't have any, it took a couple weeks but not bad.

TSW has their inventory online. I think distributors (including discount tire) just order directly from TSW based on this inventory.

Currently only showing 1 bronze.

Anyone fit BBK with the TSW's? I know ULR works, TRC3 does not!

Do you mean allow a BBK or work on the car for STR. I think a few run it in STR, its a great wheel choice!

I've seen people on this thread posting about running 245 Dunlops, 255 Dunlops, and staggered 245/255 Dunlops, but has anyone run and compared a 245 square setup to a 255 square setup?

I'm currently running Yokos but want to give the Dunlops a try. Unfortunately, the Dunlops are on backorder nationally for a month. I have access to a set of slightly used 245s, but I'm not sure if I want to give up the width, especially since Star Specs seem to run narrower than identically sized AD08s.

Thanks!

I keep browsing around other wheel options for STR... I have the Nurburgrings now, but has anyone tried the newer TSW Interlogos RF? TSW website says they're lighter than the nurburgring.

I'm actually going to try this... I am thinking about testing some 17x8 sqaure wheels with a 245/40 tire. A buddy is in his STX RX8 switched to 245/40 from a 265/40... he's getting better results and his car did well at a national event with other cars on 255s and 265s.

Now, I measured the 255/40 star spec on my 17x9 wheel while off the car and compared that with the 17x8 with a 245/40 kuhmo ASX all season. Not a great comparo, but I was curious. The contact patch shoulder to shoulder on the 255 was 9.25" and the 245 was 9"

So, assuming this is correct, 1/4" at each corner, so 1" total for the car... but with the 17x8" the sidewall is more ballooned, which would really hurt if you're running RS3s, but might not be a huge a factor with star specs.

I haven't decided what tires to test on the 17x8 wheels, yet.
