STR Prep - Wheels and Tires

It's also a good idea to maintain all the fender liner clips meaning check them before/after events and replace them. If you are missing enough of them and the tire catches there is a chance the liner could be pulled out.
The clips can be bought on ebay in bulk for very reasonable prices. I keep a bag of each the fender and under pan sized clips in my event tool box.
Hitting cones on the front corners tends to knock them out and I randomly find them missing over time in various places.

Also how are the tabs relocated?

The only liability is the tab that the liners attach to. Push them up as far as you can against the fender. The liners will get holes, but that's no big deal.

Basically there isn't really an inner fender in front, there are tabs sticking out that the liner mounts to. These have to be bent up, which is effectively like rolling the fender but doesn't require a fender roller, and yes this is pretty much necessary in the front unless you want to run at stock ride height. The rear the fenders don't have to be rolled unless you're trying to be very low.

If you do not roll and are running 255R17/40s then you can get the tire caught up on the fender edge. How bad depends on how much camber and ride height. This can pull out your fender edge if you are in a slide counter steering (tire rotating outward toward the fender edge). It also can damage (shave) the tire. See photos below.
There is no need to roll the back fenders unless you are running a strange off set. The +62 or + 63 offset that most run on the 9" wheels works as is on the back regardless of ride height, no rolling.
Early fender liner wear, the tab is the metal behind the liner where the hole is.

Need to go look under fender and pull the clips out like Jon said, but thanks for the explanations and pictures, very helpful.
So once the tabs are bent up and no longer used, how/where are those clips relocated? Is the rest of the lip that is rolled still done the traditional way using a roller?
I'll be running 255/40/17 on 17x9 +60, would like to try low ride height of 12.25-12.50 if possible. Random1, I see you ran those heights, did you have any serious issues? Did you find any extra benefits from running this low, and also with the positive rake?

Random1, mLeach, IntegraR0064, or anyone know what exactly is required to safely run 12.25"/12.5" in terms of fender mods?
Glagola1, what ride heights do you run, did you need to mod your fender to do so?

Where do the clips get relocated to from the tabs that are bent? Is a roller tool required to roll the lip? Is trimming the liner needed as well?
Is there some tab or bumper tab in the rear that needs to be relocated?
Also, what size clips fit right/best? I see ones on ebay with 15-20mm heads, and 9-11mm stems, 8mm hole.
