It'll probably better if you guys labeled the model year of the parts. I'm pretty sure my (MY06) passenger seat weighs more than say a MY00 seat.

Even AP1 sway bars had different thicknesses and weights depending on if it was an '00-'01 or '02-'03, so MY would be very helpful.

edit: obviously CR parts were CR parts and labeling them as CR defines the MYs.

I'll go back and do that tonight when I'm at work. Am I missing any legal weight reduction mods?

^I've got some brand new J's s1 camber joints that should be sitting on my front porch. Hopefully they'll go on the car next week and I'd be glad to get you the weight of both them and the stock ball joints.

Thanks Steve!

I'll post the aftermarket parts weights also tonight. I just tried to call Bill from SFR but got the answering machine. Hopefully he calls back soon.

My first list has been updated to add the year to a few items. I've tried calling bill 3 times now and no luck so I'll try again tomarrow. I'll try to get weights of all the bars if I can. I really think the direction of this thread should be people weighting items that are oem or aftermarket replacement legal str parts. As many have said scales very from day to day and we really need to just talk solid weight savings numbers instead of "my car weights X pounds." I'm about at 168 lbs of weight savings and unless thier is stuff I can legally do that I havent I can't find any more weight off unless I start buying parts for weight savings to replace my current aftermarket parts. I really don't see my self doing that besides maybe some CE28n wheels or the weight savings I'm about to get from shorter springs and cutting down my rear shock bodys. Hens the reason I weighted them before boxing them up.

Heres my list of aftermarket parts weights.

K&N intake? 4.00 (I've read 4 and 4.4, not sure which is correct)
Toda Header 11.00
Berk HFC 4.40
Gendron 1.25" Solid Bar? 20.00 (guessing)
2006 MX-5 Sway Bar 2.20
T1R 70r 18.50
17x9 +63 949Racing Wheels 16.80

JRZ Triple Adj Rear 11.45 (pigs! working on this)
Deka EXT 14L 11.00
Recaro SPG on Taitech Rails 25.00

Not to sound like an ass but I'm guessing Bill has better things to do than answer the weight of a specific swaybar.

I agree but if he knows then wouldn't that be a good resource to have in this thread?

I post resourses in hopes to help out other people. In return I hope others do the same. What's wrong with calling and asking the maker of our swaybars if he's ever weighted them and if so what is that weight. I'll also tell him I'm wanting these numbers for my own data and to share with the forum. If he says "I haven't weighted them", then I'll reply with that's ok, thanks for your time. But if he does know them then super score for me and I'm sure many others would like to know this data also.

To each their own but I don't see any harm in asking.

He makes tons of money off all the people in the s2k community from us buying his bar. If I can't call and have a 3 min convo with him after I've sent $1000 or so on his swaybar then that's a issue in its self. I'm not saying he should go and wieght them all just for me or anything. I'm just saying it should be ok to call and ask a question.

From past experiences on the phone with him he kept talking and talking and didn't mind talking about his bar. So I don't see him caring at all of I called and asked if he happened to know that weights of the bars.

I just received my SPC ball joints and will weigh them and the OEM ball joints as well when I install them in the next two weeks. Also will weigh the CR shocks and Moton Clubsports if any of that stuff is needed. This is a great thread.

Weight anything and everything that is a STR legal mod. That way new comers can you this resourse to figure out how much they have taken off the car.

Thanks
