My pictures depicts a battery that's turned around, angled 45 degrees and isn't using all the stock mounting holes for even the tray let alone using a stock style mounting setup. It IS relocated from the original location. Show me a stock battery that's mounted 45 degrees in the engine compartment. There isn't one.

As I've said I've seen it done one several ST* cars and haven't seen them get protested so it shouldn't be a issue. I gave you two different arguments of how the rules could be interpreted and both result in the same outcome of it being legal to remove the tray. We aren't talking about 10lbs of savings, it's 1.3lbs.

Makes sense to me, I think you could argue that just by taking the tray out that's "relocating" the battery

From the way I read it... to remove or relocate the tray are allowed only if the battery is relocated and the tray is removable by simply unbolting it. So, I don't agree with ya with your OR argument point, but I believe you are okay what you and Jon said about removing the tray being the relocation of it. haha

BTW, I can't wait to see this little guy in your engine compartment. I thought my Dekka (sp?) battery was tiny

Ooo well, still the same end product of it being legal.

I don't know how it got so low, but my car was 2801 on our club's scales at the beginning of 2011, and last weekend at Packwood, it showed 2644. I think that the only difference in my list is no rear sway (and an OEM front sway), so our numbers are really close.

- removed trunk kit/spare tire
- K&N intake
- Berk hipercoated header
- Berk HFC
- OEM front sway
- removed rear sway
- Megan drift spec catback
- 17x9 RPF1
- 255/40 Z1 SS
- BC Coilovers
- Deka ETX14
- OEM seats
- removed floormats/washer fluid

I can't think of any other way to save weight, short of pulling the catback in favor of a down turn, but I already hit 96 db with the Megan.
