You'll be fine. Probably a no rear bar setup is right for you, and go pretty stiff on the front bar when you get it. You'll be a bit soft and the car will be a bit loose until you get the bar but it shouldn't be too bad.

It depends on what your preference are. You currently have the rear bar removed I see, the easiest thing will be to wait for your adjustable front bar. Have you ran the car with the new suspension?

In the spirit of sharing...

I have not been active on the forum for a while, busy with other things right now. Remember to have fun out there!

For the record my setup has not changed in almost two years. It still works really well and some what lines up with some of the recent discussions. The only thing that seems to be departing from most others is the ride height (very low), maybe more toe in rear too. I attribute the high spring rates and low ride to minimizing the dynamic changes of the suspension which on an AP1 rear can make a difference.

Car: 2003 S2000 AP1
Weight: 2650 lbs with 1/2 tank

Shocks: Penske 8300
Shock Body Length (lower bolt center to top of body/shaft bearing see photo below): Front = stock " --- Rear = 10.5"
Valving: OTS Penske per their tables
Pistons: Compression - digressive --- Rebound - Linear

Springs: Hyperco 7" 950f/ 8" 750r

Front Sway Bar: Comptech Adjustable on full stiff (~900 lb/in)
Rear Sway Bar: 2006 MX-5 Front Bar with stock MX-5 bushings (disconnected sometimes to take out some oversteer if present due to surface or rain)

Ride height: 12.25"f/12.5"r hub center to metal fender edge
Tires: 255 square Hankook RS3
Wheels: 949 Racing 6ULR 17x9

Alignment
Front Toe: 0.0 in
Front Camber: -3.0 deg
Caster: 5 deg

Rear Toe: -5/16"
Rear Camber: -2.6 deg

Bushings: OEM

Havn't raced the car yet, I'm test and tuning and first event next week. I'm hoping to have the bar soon to give a better understanding on setup.

As I said, your numbers on paper are just fine. Your alignment could be as much of a culprit for ill-handling characteristics than your springs or bars and you didn't list that. The only way to know what you want is to drive the car and develop from there. The cars work with innumerable different setups once you take into account the surface, the tires, the alignment, the shocks, the driver, the course, etc.

I'm just starting to play in STR. Changed a few things from initial setup. Now:

Shocks: KWV3's with OTS valving
Settings from full stiff:
Bump: 5 front, 1 rear
Rebound: 2 front, 6 rear
Springs: 600f, 550r Hypercoil 60mm 6"
Swaybar front: Comptech V2 full stiff
Swaybar rear: Tanabe 30.4mm solid (yep)
Wheels: TR Motorsports 17x9's
Tires: Hankook 255/40 RS3's
Ride Height: 13.75 front & rear (for travel)
Toe: 0 front, 1/8" total in on rear
Camber: -2.25* front & -2.5* rear (limited in front with current ride height and no offset bushings yet)
Caster: 6.0*

Am considering 650 springs front and rear, and running either no, or stock 08 rear sway. Would be the highest spring rates the shocks could handle without revalving.

Car: 2004 S2000 AP2
Weight: 2745 lbs

Ride height: 12.5"f/13.0"r hub center to metal fender edge
Coilovers: Eibach Multi Pro R2 Double adjustable
Springs: 700f/700r
Front Bar: Moddicitions (Old Saner) 1.25"solid" @ 2 (3 way adjust)
Rear Bar: stock disconnected but still on car
Alignment: -2.7f, -2.4r camber, 0" toe front, 1/8" rear toe
Tires: 255 square Z2 Star Specs 34/32 psi
Wheels: TR Motor sports 17x9+63
Differential: stock Torsen
Bushings: OEM

Since the coils came with a square setup instead of being heavier in the front what sway bar setting should i try out? Current weights of the bar are 1-566 lbs, 2-644 lbs, 3-739. People mentioned that i could compensate the lighter front springs with a heavier bar setting but i don't have want to under steer the car too much. I can also play with rebound and compression, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here are some weight breakdowns:

OEM 295
Moddictions 1-566
Moddictions 2-644
Moddictions 3-739
Gendron 1.25 1-367
Gendron 1.25 2-389
Gendron 1.25 3-399
Gendron 1.25 4-477
Gendron 1.25 5-526
Gendron 1.25 6-582

You didn't mention the most important thing...how does the car handle? If it oversteers, go up on front bar. If not, stay where you are.

Been out of the game so long and trying to get my head screwed on before I start replacing things. Essentially going to be replacing all suspension bits in my '00 to freshen her 17 year old, 200k mile ass up.

Is everyone running stock/OEM control arms? I've gone through the thread and don't see much posted about changing them out. Are you stuck with OEM only, or can they be replaced? Upper or lower?
