If someone honestly protested that they are a winnie. Good luck selling your over priced STR wheels robert, I'm sure you'll sell them very quickly after just pointing out 50% of all the people in STR are illegal.
If you go to the doctor's office, and he tells you you're sick, do you throw a fit and call him a "winnie"?

If you go to your accountant's, and he tells you you owe money on your taxes, do you throw a fit and call him a "winnie"?

Do you often deal with your life problems by throwing a fit and calling the messenger a "winnie"?

Personally, I think that someone who realizes that a part may be illegal, and mentions it in a broad public forum, is doing the community a favor. That way research can be done, a consensus opinion can be formed, and corrective action can be taken if necessary, *before* it matters. Would you rather he sat on the information until someone got DSQ-ed from a big event without even realizing they were running an illegal part?
LOL. Am I the only one that immediately thought of "Winnie Cooper" from the "Wonder Years"?

....what a little MINX

Thankyou Matt, Colin and everyone who responded maturely to me bringing this up.
It was brought up out of my own want to be compliant with the rules. I dont think any of us would bring it up under protest, but were not the only cars out there.
To those of you who didnt respond maturely and positively (josh7owens) maybe you should find another forum. were all working here toward the same goal.

Either way though I think the lower ball joints is such a better option I'm not sure why everyone wouldn't go that route anyway?
I think half the answer for this is the same answer for 99 questions out of 100. Money. When this option was made known a few years ago I was setting my car up on a tight budget (compared to most on this board) and at the time it was also thought to give the fender more clearance so that a roll wouldent be needed. The other half of the answer was thr fact that every supplier in the country was out of stock on the j's part indefinitely which made it the only option.
I know Hardrace (I think that is the company) makes one that is the same as J's for half the money. Otherwise the guy that made my delrin bushings is always willing to make more. I have brought that up a few times but not many people have gone for it. You get the same benefit you were describing though, more fender clearance. Having said that I get roll the tabs and had one catch on a tire once. It was fixable though so it turned out not to be a huge deal.

Im a big fan of the offset delrin! only downside is cost.. huge cost if i remember right?

Robert be nice

I want the same thing everyone else does, "keeping the s2000 at the top of STR." It's good that you talked about this so that people can research it and make sure it's legal but if it ends up being illegal alot of people are going to be upset. Thats all I have to say. I don't have the SPC ball joints so I can't do any measurments to help answer the question.

I hope it is not illegal. my plan is to run a set on the rear this year, not to gain camber, but to narrow the rear track and save my inner CV cup.
Yes many people will be upset, me very much included. however that is not justification to just ignore the issue.

I was going to use her in Josh's new signature file, but I figured no one would get the reference.

Spelling aside, the point is if indeed the SPC ball joints are illegal why are we just now talking about it after two years? This isn't exactly a cheap fix for the people that have them.

We are talking about making people spends thousands of dollars to change a illegal part that they've been told for the last 2 years is 100% legal. $600 each times at least 50 cars. That's a lot of money, which would upset a lot of people. Someone needs to really look into this before posting on the board saying its illegal. I'm sorry but Roberts "excellent" comment pissed me off. It's like he's happy it might be illegal.
I went ahead and included grammar.
