Authentic J's Racing baffled pans are marked as follows. There is even a laser etching in the inside of the pan....look closely at the left hand corner in the second pic.
Again, I've had mine on the car for over a year and there are no deterioration or cracks int eh welds.

Yep. The TCDesign pans have eaten at least a couple of motors.
The other JDM pan reference in this thread has a broken weld, but it did to eat a motor. The part is too big to get in the way of the pump sump. I will have to pull my Mugen pan and inspect it. So if anyone knows of any other that have failed, please post them up.

I remember this one, but it was the only one I know that had this issue.

I don't think the root cause to Clarks issue was the fact that two of the cap screws backed out. They are really small. It could be a factor that the baffle was now no longer firmly mounted in place and that allowed the oil to climb the wall of the pan. Also the mileage on the motor could have been another factor as was oil level.
We have a local have the same type of issue with his car on the track. It just let go. But in his case, there was a ton of track miles on the motor, no baffled pan. There was some oiling issue that we were trying to tack down. He had an intermittent oil light on he track, but only once in a while. But clearly after it exploded on the first run of the day, first green flag lap, something was causing the oiling issue.
