Doses anyone here have any opinions with regards to what range of spring rates the off the shelf Koni yellows (single adjustable) shocks are be good for?

I was told the Yellows off the shelf were good for up to 500-550, so that is what I'm running: 500F/550R. I am thinking of sending them out to be revalved for stiffer springs during perhaps July.

My experience mostly agrees with everything said above. I called Koni a couple years ago with the same (spring rate) question and the engineer I spoke with was hesitant to recommend anything higher than 450lbs/in for OTS valving. I'd guess there is some margin built into that recommendation, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

so what spring rates did you go with?

Not sure about the S but I'm running 280/190 F/R on the RX-8 with Koni OTS that's already nearly double factory spring rates
