Default Spoon's take on the cracked upper A-arm issue

I wanted to offer this for discussion, simply out of curiosity. I just came across the following product on Spoon's website, and recalled the A-arm bracket repair issue (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...&#entry4174643).

This obviously isn't useful to those affected by the original repair protests, but for vehicles which aren't limited to repair only by class, it seems Spoon has encountered the same problem and tried to offer a solution. I'm curious if anyone thinks this might be good preventative maintanence (or repair), or just another thing which any skilled fabricator could do cheaper, easier.

I have the Spoon Gusset Plate installed on my car. It helps and reinforces the A-arm Bracket due to many of us changing to Non-staggered tires. The welder who installed mine, said he could copy this part fairly easily, not sure if it would come out cheaper after his time is spent.

I am also planning on installing the gusset bracket sometime in the near future but I'm also upgrading all of the bushings to help decrease deflection in the suspension movement / geometry.

Maybe I'm missing something (I haven't spent much time in the wheel well) but it seems like this just over the top of everything. How does it take care of the flexing and cracking? Does the original seam get welded at the same time? Does this weld on over the seam so the seam gets reinforced? Or does this go completely over the whole area, relieving loads on the seam and spreading them out over the footprint of the plate?

It would seem to me that it would be welded over the top of the existing bracket, but also to the outboard most ends of the existing bracket, logically distributing the force over a larger area of the wheel well.
