If you're coming from up north, there is a Best Western in Tehachapi that's decent. About a 20 min drive from the track if you take the back road through the canyons.
There's nothing I'd recommend in Rosamond proper (you'll see why when you're there). You could also stay in Mohave but it's not really any closer to the track and farther away from your point of origin.
Some of us stay at the Park Plaza in Lancaster, but that's 20 mins or so south of the track and maybe an additional 45 mins travel from Tehachapi in the wrong direction for you. I think Rylan is coming so maybe shoot him a message and ask him where he's staying?

Hey Richard, Now you got me thinking about running both days!!
I am going to call around to see if I can source a fresh set of RA-1's.

Thanks Richard!
I think I will stay two days also. I need a place to stay....
Nobody, let me know where you plan on staying.
Oh btw, I have stock fenders on all 4 corners... so 255/40/17 will have to do for me for the rear and 235/40/17 on the fronts... I wish Toyo had 245/40/17 for the fronts...

Do you think so?
According to my readings, 245/40/17 will fit with my offset/wheel width (17x9") in the front w/o damaging the fender...
We should have a s2k track junkie dinner gtg....

I was shpped some 235/40/17 RA1's by mistake once and they looked very wide, and short. They are 1.2" shorter (23.8" vs 25" [and my rears were 25.7" for 275's]), and 0.3" wider (9.6" vs 9.3"). Thg 235/40 RA1's do rub a bit already (mine did until the liners were worn through) unless maybe you have >2* camber. Tire widths and profiles vary by manufacturer. I have CE28N's also, and with 245/45/17 BFG-KD's (shaved even), they tore up my fenders and one tire got sliced. So the 235/40/17 will change your rake/rideheight and may do other things to the geometry of your suspension, and the car will tend to oversteer significantly with these and 255 rears, though you might like this since you are a drifter . Not sure about drifting through turns 8-9 though.
(BFG's wer 45's, not 40's)

Thanks for the tips.
I think I will stick with 235/45/17 as my ride hight and alignment is just where I want it. Me a "drifter?" Never.. I just have to work on my partial throttle skills...
