I'm building a very "UK-spec" version of the car, meaning not going the Chevy small-block route. I'm using a race-built all AL Rover 4.8l dry-sumped V8 with a mild cam, making 360 hp at the crank, a race-prepped version of a Renault gearbox which is popular over there, the standard-spec suspension that came on the sports (which is very affordable, btw at about $100 per damper), and DOT-R's to start with. I've got a bunch of old tires for it, after which I'll have CCW's or something built in 18" to run Trans-Am or Porsche Cup takeoff slicks The Porsche Cup slicks are much smaller than it'll allow, but easy to come by. It can accomodate 13" wheels in back, and I think 10" in front, not sure. More than enough tire for a 2050 lb car, in any case
When it's done, it'll look like a yellow version of this:
Now that picture just makes me smile
