BTW... what pressures were you guys with RA1s running?
I started at 32lbs. cold and they were running at 40lbs. hot. I don't know if that was optimum or not. Grip wasn't a problem as I had lots of room for track out on most corners. Learing the line, figuring out which gear was best in each of the corners, and just plain confidence to progressively go faster in each corner were bigger concerns for me.

40 hot is a bit much for RA-1s. Shoot for the mid-30s on most days.

I like RA-1's at 40-42 personally. Depends on the track and weather.

Well, how does pressure affect handling? More pressure in the rear = less? oversteer?

Laguna Seca experts....

So I'm curious, do you accelerate hard (WOT) between 8a and 9, and get on the brakes into 9, or do you just balance throttle all the way down until the apex of 9?

This weekend I was told to play it safe and light throttle from the corkscrew all the way to the apex of 9 before getting hard on the gas. I just can't help but think there is a little section of acceleration that can be performed with a little bit of braking before diving into 9. Just curious.

Nice lap times btw...in the end I was turning 1:55s with the E36 M3 (stock except for A048s). I think I'll be ready to take the Honda next time out.

Thanks,
Bassem

Once I turn in for the apex, I'm pretty much wot... you've got lots of room to track out and then get back in position for #10. I may be apexing it too late, though.

So, I guess that means I have time I can still shave off?
