Excellent analysis!
Your assumption is correct about not zeroing the accelerometers. The DL1 was mounted straight and level in my car. I velcroed it to the crossmember on the passenger side. If I remeber correctly, Richard mounted his just forward of the shift knob where the radio would normally be located.

Sweet! Has anybody taken the next step and tied it into their throttle position, wheel speed, RPM, or steering angle (if the S2k has one) sensors? I spent some time yesterday identifying all those wires in my 240's harness, so I figure I'd give it a try. It'll be interesting to see discepancies in RPM vs. MPH that indicate wheelspin, and the wheel speed sensors should detail brake lockup. What I'm most interested in though is looking at steering angle vs. lateral g, to see what sort of slip angles at each end of the car are most effective- i.e., driving in a slight drift vs. "hooked up".
Anybody here bought or read this book?
(Sorry for sidetracking the Laguna thread)

Derek Stevens of Hondata has a DL1 with many accessories, including individual tire temp. sensors, in his race Civic.
My DL1 was mounted very flat on the bare console in front of the shifter. There is some rake to the car though.

OK, here's my DL90 data from Laguna in Feb. '04. Lap 3 (black) was 1:46.2 (1:46.1 by AMB), lap 4 (red) was 1:46.4 (1:46.5 by AMB).
The plots and sector times show that Lap 4 was going to be even quicker, until, ah, something happened in T9. I think I might have gone wide and had to back off to avoid going off track. That cost me about 0.5 sec.
In the g-g plot (all data from the 5-lap session), the "Laguna notch" is evident.
