I got black flagged once with my 4IG intake, but never again, I didn't do any changed and I'm shifting at redline in 3rd coming up that hill.

The 2004 did great. Car feels really planted, with fantastic turn in and a lot more predictability than my 2000. no understeer at all, and the gearing is very well suited for laguna, although I did need 5th twice, coming into turn 2 and coming into turn 5, so, if you don't like shifting, then a 2004 is not for you. I used 2nd - 5th on the front straight.

I turned some not totallly balls out 1:51s and probably could've gone a bit faster, I was being timid through 6 and 9, not wanting to stuff my less than 2000 mile old car.

the RE050s hold up much better than the s-02s for track abuse (I had a 2000 s2000 previously). Can't comment about the new compound brakes; I used Cobalt Spec VRs up front and Spec Cs in the rear. They do well, although they are more progressive than I like, I prefer the high end pagids for more linear braking. But the Cobalts did stop me everytime. I did notice a bit of deposits on the rotors, nothing major, but not ideal. With race tires, I definitely can see the need for more rear shocks, the car doesn't take a set under trail braking as well as I'd like, similar to my 2000. (this was noticeable coming into the corkscrew, I had to fight the car just a little on corner entry)

I definitely need an alignment, though! Camber is almost zero up front.

I haven't had this problem. I used to be a dealer for cobalt and I sold a lot of these pads, and the only time I heard complaints of rotor cracking was when people were not doing cool down laps, etc. I ran them on my car last weekend and while I got a bit of grooving on the rotors, I didn't notice excessive wear. (I actually think the Spec C rears wore the rear rotors more)

Personally, I am not totally fond of their rather progressive nature and overaggressive bite (although a lot of people really like that bite)

everyone that saw eriks rotors at laguna and they aren't that cracked. they show the usual tick marks that I've seen in just about every set of s2k rotors. but they're still in fine shape.

So was it fun? Did Aaron scare anyone away? This is the first event in CA I've ever missed, so I want to know how it was!

That would be great news for the '04 owners if that is true. Would be great to see a few more dynos done on the same day in similar conditions, though.
