Speed Ventures @ LAGUNA SECA, January 2, 2004
Seasons Greetings! We're happy to provide a great way to work off all those potato chips and beers the day after New Years at Laguna Seca.
Early signup price: $275 one day (signups after December 24th are $305)
Instruction:$30 per day instructor fee required for first-timers.
Duration: 1 day / 1h,45m - 2h,20m hours of track time per group!*
Track: The full track at Laguna Seca (Monterrey, CA)
Registration: Registration is open at the SV site:
https://www.speedventures.net/event_select.asp
Timing: There are transponders available for rental
Event Info:
Laguna Seca is a legendary 2.238 mile track in Central California, and one
of the two most in-demand tracks in the west. Come out with us and you'll
get the best track time per dollar value you'll see at Laguna. Test your
skills on the world-famous corkscrew and compare your times to those set by
the big names of ALMS, NASCAR, CART and the stars of yesteryear. Laguna Seca is a challenging course best suited to intermediate and advanced drivers.
Note: Noise Restrictions at Laguna Seca: There is a noise limit of 90db on
this track, and basically a guy sits off to the right of the track and takes
noise readings. If you go over the limit, you will be black flagged and told
to go into the pits and figure out a way to quiet the car down. People with
loud cars will need to make adjustments for this
event.
There is no aftermarket rollbar requirement for this event.
* Depending on attendance and how much people drive - L.S. imposes strict 25 car limit.

$275 for a day, at the track I have dreamed of driving on for the past 13 years, all at a time when I can't even see my car because it is in the garage under the grey car cover for 5 months...
I need a , just before I start to
This is a deal, if you live in the area you need to do this track!

Thanks for the show of support Triple-H. What you really need is a Plane Ticket and some Money to bribe any one of a hundred S2000 owners out here to let you drive their car for the day. I guess it's no longer $275 if you do that is it?

Because Watkins Glen is in my backyard, there are some BMW people out there who have feelings for The Glen that I have for Laguna.
We once had a student fly over here from CA, rent a Neon near the track, pick up a set of Cool Carbon brake pads at the local NAPA store, flog the rental car around the track for three days, return the rental Neon with the Cool Carbon pads still on it, and then catch a flight back to CA. Trust me, this is the kind of guy I respect.
Have a blast, I'll be thinking of you and the Corkscrew....

I'd love to go, but I don't think I can afford it right now...
And more importantly, my transmission looks to be dying on me I was hoping it was bad fluid or the slave cylinder (remember the problems I had at streets earlier this year?)... but I just changed the slave cylinder and the fluid and it's still grinding sporadically (particularly 5th gear) and giving me general grief. I'm PRAYING it'll just fix itself cuz I don't have the time / money / energy to rebuild my trans right now :-(

Aaron, I think I registered way back for this. I'll be there.
Triple-H, maybe you could arrange a swap: A day at the Glen in your car for a Day at Laguna in a CA car. Anyway, if you are ever out here for any of our track days at any track, I'd be happy to share my car with you.
