Source and tips for Salvage Title Vehicles?
I'm currently trying to sell my CR and get a myself into cheap 06+ S2000 that I can turn into a 70% track / 30% street car (occasional cruise, drive to/from the track) for NASA TT. Are there any good sites or resources to find such a car? I keep a look out on the regular car selling sites (Autotrader, Cars.com, ebay), S2ki, craigslist, nasaforums, sccaforums, etc. but I'd like to know if there's a trick to finding those low mileage "Salvage due to theft" or "high mileage with a cut top" gems.
Also, is there anything I should know about buying a salvage title car? Hidden costs as far as insurance fees or even being able to register in my state (IL)?

Im not sure where you live, but in my area, I have seen 4 in the last 3 months that were all around 5k or less depending on the damage etc.
Get a Craigslist app on your smart phone, and look in surrounding areas that are within a couple hours driving distance.
You Must be Quick when you see one, because lots of people will jump on those, just because they would otherwise not be able to afford one.
I would recommend one that is already been tracked and or modded.
because it will probly have a good title, and if you dont like the mods, take them and sell them, get part of your money back and use it for the mods you want, and you will get a great deal considering what someone put in it.
I dont recommend a salvage or rebuilt title. good luck ever getting everything to line up exactly right. most insurance companies wont insure it, and by the time you fix it, putting it back together or do the things you want to it, you could have bought one ready to go.
If your truely wanting to trade ect... post up what you actually have to have
