SCCA S2000 street tire class
Our local SCCA is going to open up a street tire class for cars like the S2000 that dont have the option of street tires. Anyone seen or have experience with this? how well did it work. Supposedly Nashville has had an on going street tire class for quite some time without any problems.

Our region has a PAXed street tire class for any car on tires with a treadwear greater than 140. The S2000 OEM tires are legal.

I started the thread above. PM me if you have any questions.
We call the class STS2K. It is so hot, folks are actually getting class letters for it.
I have 2 setups for my car:
AS: V710's 225/265, Gendron style bar middle stiff (5th stiffest setting)
STS2K : Hankook RS-2's 205/245, Gendron style bar set on stiffest soft. (3rd stiffest setting)
Here is a pic from an event where we promoted the S2000 street tire class:
Since that event, 3 more local drivers moved to s2000s - all 3 drove miata's before....

Has everyone started writing their letters to the SCCA?

So folks... what street tires would you recommend after I burn up my S02's?
My bet is the S02's would be the best if you don't mind paying the price. But, what about the cost conscience? (Kumho MX... Hankook RS2's?) Oh... I do have Saner's FSB to allow for the 225F/245R... or 205F/225R.
BTW, I will probaby finish the season in AS with my V710's, buy another set of V710's for the other regions and CENDIV and play in the open Street Tire class in our region. That is if it is enough fun and competition.
