Default Saner, Comptech, or gendron....

Hi everyone, just seeing if I can get some of the latest word on autox bars. I'm really planning on getting the newer (new bushings to prevent clunking and deformed endlinks) Saner bar. It's only $199, so I figure even if I get half the performance of the comptech or Gendron I'll have gotten my money's worth. Just to update that thread on autox set-up etc., the Comptech bar is about $670, the gendron is going for $600, and the Saner is $199. All these quotes are w/o shipping included. Although I only hope to get close to the performance of the other bars, I don't see how these bars won't perform almost identically. The Saner is a 1.25" solid bar just like the Gendron. I know the Gendron has stronger blade type arms, but I don't think that the regular 1.25" Saner bar ends are necessarily weak. Of course, both the comptech and Gendron have more adjustments to play with, but honestly, most of us just find a sweet spot and stick with it. I think I'll be totally fine with the three settings the Saner has to offer. The comptech is just funky, but boasts a 178% stiffness over stock, whereas the Saner claims about 150%. Sounds close enough for me. Any input guys?

I only use the Saner because the Gendron and Comptech are ridiculously expensive. The Saner is heavy as hell, though, and makes a lot of noise.

I have the Comptech bar and have for years. No problems at all with many autox's on it.

I had the 2nd gen Comptech on my 01 S and loved it. Lot's of autox and track days without any problems. I'm putting a Comptech on my 05.

If you shop around you can get a better price on the Comptech.

I have used the comptech bar before on other peoples cars. Just bought one for my S last week. One thing I like about the comptech is it's adjustable so you can change the rates of it. Plus comptech redesigned the bar a few years ago and fixed the snapping problem to my knowledge. If you talk to Hardtopguy or Ricks S2k they both can get it for you under 670 shipped, plus they both are . Now the question is does comptech have any in stock.

How much noise does the saner bar make? Any other problems with it?

There are a few threads on the Saner bar that I just read through last week. I've picked up a used one and hope to have it on by next weekend so I can give some feedback about it. The main points I took away from the threads are: have the newest hardware from Saner to avoid problems, use lock-tite on the nuts to eliminate noise (and backing off of the nuts), and it's the best solution if you're on a budget. I really can't imagine spending $600 on a solid piece of metal.
