Default San Diego - tracks and real estate

My family just took a vacation to San Diego a few weeks ago and love the area. We are toying with the idea of leaving a place where real estate is $75/sqft and there are low taxes (Dallas, Tx) to moving to a place with high taxes and $200+/sqft. housing... This is the EXACT OPPOSITE move most people these days are doing. There are TONS of Californians in Texas right now.

What tracks are nearby? From doing a quick search it seams that most would require an over night stay if coming from San Diego.

Any autocross clubs? (even though I don't autocross much anymore)

I am just playing with the idea, I do doubt we will actually move.

Wait, what? I paid $200/sq ft in Dallas!

I have tons of track friends in socal, but I think most are closer to LA than SD. The further north you go, the closer to laguna seca, buttonwillow, fontana, streets of willow, etc.

Closest track to San Diego would be Calspeedway, unless there's some little known kart track that occasionally allows cars to drive on.

Auto Club Speedway (which sucks for the s2k).

After that, you're looking at, Willow Springs International Raceway (also has Streets of Willow Springs - both located in Rosamond/Palmdale area), Buttonwillow Raceway Park (right next to Bakersfield - most likely an overnight also), Chuckwalla (Palm Desert area - definitely an overnighter).

They do autocross in San Diego quite a bit. El Toro is also frequented quite a bit for auto-x (both are easily driving distance).

JJ1 and Takchi can speak more for track distances since they're both based on SD.

They do a nice size auto x at Qualcomm stadium. I day trip chuckwalla and streets/ big willow. Auto club is close but sucks IMO. Buttonwillow is definitely an over nighter. SD is further from the tracks than LA but still much closer to a bunch of tracks than almost any city. Another thing is the track sceen in SoCal is the best in the universe. It's a fact.

$200 per sqft is a steal. Come to the Bay Area where it is $400-to $500

Streets, big willow and CVR are about 3hrs driving casually. 2.5 driving fast. BW is 3.5 to 5 depending on traffic and auto club is about 1.5-2.

I can't remember what it was called, but it was by or past el centro?
