There are many s2ki members that have used this battery for extended periods (over a year) with no issues. Zero issues starting up the car daily or after it has set for a few days. If you don't drive often, you can get the Shorai charger/conditioner as well.

A word of caution running these tiny batteries. My second alternator is now going bad due to running small batteries. I used to have a Braille battery that fried my original alternator - the dash starts flickering. I put in another alternator and went back to the oem battery. No problems for 2 years with the oem. I recently installed a 16 Cell Ballistic battery (3.5 lbs). My dash is starting to flicker again. I need to add ballast to the car anyway so I'm going to put my oem battery back in and relocate it to use as ballast.

If you're showing less than 13 volts when the engine is running, then you're alternator is not working properly. I do know that one of the warning signs that the voltage regulator on the alternator is failing is a flickering cluster at idle. You may need to replace the regulator.

Why would the battery have an impact on the alternator? If anything a bad alternator might effect the battery but not really the other way around right? There have been quite a few people using the Shorai's for a few years with no reported issues.
