Or they keep the radio in the car because they anticipate driving the car from Seattle to Spokane for a track weekend, and want to be able to listen to the Mariners game along the way.
I'm sure that applies to a lot of us.

Now, where the hell are those parts I overnighted?!

you should add replacing your side mirrors with carbon fiber mirrors. it saves a good 15 lbs.

^ Haha very true. I think those wheels are going to become infamous. I guess the LE28 is the official wheel of the IAA now.
3312DC - Do it! My first test before I remove something is going a week without using it. If I miss it, it stays in the car. If I don't miss it, it gets ripped out. Since you haven't used it all year, I'd say it's safe to take it out

It's about tracking your car, which if you are serious, involves finding as many ways as humanly possible to ditch weight.

My car weighs 2640 lbs with just under half a tank of gas. I have two seats, AC, CC, head unit(but no amps or speakers- haven't taken it out yet ), all airbags, etc.
You should swap the battery. Since I run a higher compression stroker motor, I opted for the 14lbs one vice the 10lbs one- more CCA's. I haven't weighed a stock battery, but I've lifted it out of my car and know that there is a difference.
Btw, I do not believe you can remove any part of the SRS and still have the car be legal on the street. Can anyone confirm or refute this? This includes seatbelts swapped in favor of harnesses.

I think that law are old and written as such that a car manufactured after 1969 is required to have seat belts. It does not say what kind of seat belts. Only that if the car was made with them, they must be in the car.
You can tell I have been studing with my son who is a new driver

Has anyone who changed the battery, mounted it in the back? That would be good to balance some of the weight from the front to the back. I have a no spare wheel and nothing in the trunk, as well as cf trunk, so should be an easy and an effective thing to do.
