Didnt mention anything about the rubber on the belt Krazik just that its a shorter belt chill out. Plus for those S2KI users who do not live in the States they cant really go down to a Pep Boys or Kragen to get your "POS American made Goodyear belt for $8" (not that anyone really wants to put anything labeled as POS in their car but anyway)
Some of us only have the option of ordering from abroad. So in short take a valium and read posts a bit closer before replying.

great write up!
now add stuff like carbon trunk, lighter NASA or SCCA approved bucket seat, and changing suspension pieces, i have no clue but i assume there is some if not minimal weight loss in changing to coilovers, and adding a better sway bar. also what about brakes? oem sized drilled and slotted brakes would make for a small weight loss if any

Good thread....
However, once a weekend track racer/event driver starts to gut the car out a cage or roll bar must be installed. It makes no sense especially on a conv car to gut it out and make it race prepped or even semi race prepped with out proper safety.
I have had extensive experience in building race cars and I am about to build an S2000.

Good thread, but I think something that wasn't mentioned is tire weight. The thread starter brought up how much lighter the volks were but didn't compare tire weights. I bet those wider 17 inch meats added a few lbs over stock.
