S-02 psi for autocross?

I agree, one of the important factors IS keeping the tire from rolling over. In all fairness I am not on S02's. I am running 225/50 front and 245/45 rear Yokohama AVi's. They roll much less than the narrow 205/55 S02's in my experience.

The rollover indicators I speak of are small triangles located about 1/8" from the edge of tread. With 30psi the scuffing was almost touching the tip of the triangle.

BTW, Gregg, thanks for the pointers out on the course. It made a world of difference shaving off about 2.5 seconds.

I think the better you are the harder you push the tires and therefore the more important careful tire PSI management becomes.

Personally I set it 32 f/r cold on stock tires and can forget about it afterwards. I could probably lower the rear pressuer half a PSI but it's close enough to the edge that I don't worry about it.

For comparison purposes I'm running about 8% slower than Derek Butts, a Nationals champion. But I think he also has slicks, shocks and swapped out his exhaust which accounts for maybe 3% of that difference. I am but an egg.

Just to throw more info in here, here is what I run most of the time.

Front: 42
Back: 34

I run the Kumho Victo's. If the back is slipping on me, I will raise the front 2 psi and lower the back 2 psi., but no lower then 32 in the back. I found this setup by mistake one day and I really like the way it works.

I have Koni Yellow's (full hard all the way), Comptech swaybar (full hard), R4S pads, and the 225/245 tire combo.

Also, that is for a autocross setup. I also mark the tires to watch the roll.

preferred psi may also be dependant on your MY. I didn't think the difference to be that much, but at a DE/autocross this past weekend, there was a difference. MY02+ did have some suspension tweaks.

then again, I am not even a zygote and only have slightly less experience than skill....

but I ran 38/38 on s02 with about half tread left. probably would have helped to drop rear pressure a little.

I try to keep them F35 R32 hot most the time in auto-x, first time around seems to be more of a mission to heat up tires for me then trying to get best time. One local saction lets you run laps one after another (or REALLY close to it) , it was great to make 5 runs in a row, by my last run I was flying
