What's enough caster? is 5 enough? That's what I'm running.
hmm, that's low. Do you like the steering response? Most of the Socal guys get 6.5+ and the car is very responsive. Whenever its less than that I notice and absolutely hate the steering feel.

Darrin @ WestEnd always recommends more caster on these cars as well, which is who most of us use for alignments anyways I imagine.

I'll start experimenting with caster once I get my camber dialed in. I understand what it is in concept, but I don't know how it affects handling or feel. I do know that it is "dynamic camber" to a degree, but its so rare to have any large steering input on the track that I'm not sure how much it helps.

This is one of the reasons, the other reason is the opposite of that reason, I don't need an insane amount of neg camber for a u-turn (half a joke) the other reason although slight, is caster jacking. As far as feel goes I still know what the tires are doing and I didn't notice any loss in response. The car feels better through the fast and slow stuff.
I'm still playing around so who knows, I might eventually end up at the max caster theory but at this point I like my 5 degrees.

Hopefully it doesn't rain so I can get a nice feel for these tires at the end of their tread life this weekend at ACS (aka S2K Challenge #2)

I'm fairly positive you don't have enough caster to achieve that kind of camber. Get some camber bolts so your steering isn't so dull.

And if you have more than 6.5+ degrees of caster in the front, I am amazed. How did you do at WSIR? lap times?
You know, I am actually not sure what my caster specs are. So you are saying they are probably low in order for me to achieve the camber I have? So with more caster I will most likely need different camber bolts to achieve the same camber? Interesting. I will definitely be looking into that! Thanks Ameer.

I ran a 1:37.7. It was my first time there and I feel I could definitely improve on that my next time there.

There are people on both sides of the camp when it comes to caster amount

but at any rate, just FYI... this car does not used aftermarket camber bolts to achieve more camber, instead, it uses aftermarket ball joints.

I run max caster, which is at least 6 degrees depending on all other alignment specs.

I basically run the minimum caster I can that still affords me the steering weight I like... which comes out to the 5.5-6 range

So 09S2K,

There's obviously pros and cons for both tires but which tires are you liking better?

If you were to get another set which one would it be?
