cool. I think from all the reading I've done what you're saying or agreeing with is probably correct. Now I do still think I could use some front camber joints though to get the absolute most out of it.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread, but how much faster do rs3s wear out compared to star specs?

I have had 3 sets of Star Specs and just switched over to Rs-3. I loved the Star specs but read great things on the rs-3 and for the price difference i went with rs-3. I have put 5,000 miles on them and so far i love them. I have not done a full trackday on them but i have autocrossed and taken the car up to Deals gap in the mountains. Definetly more grip over the Star specs but i have noticed alot more wear on the sidewalls over the Star specs. As of right now i'm leaning towards the Rs-3 again because for track use i feel this tire has more traction. I did like the star specs more for street driving but with the rs3 costing less im sticking with them

based on pricing right now too you can just about buy 3 sets of RS3s for the price of 2 sets of Star Specs

You for got the most important thing...track time for each type of tires. I'm not sure if you've posted them...didn't want to read all 10 pages.

If times were all that mattered, I'd be running Hoosier A6.

Lap times will vary with ambient conditions, setup changes, tire pressures, heat cycling, and even tread left on the tire. The best I can offer is subjective feedback based on my experience. YMMV.

+1, I thought this thread was about comparing "street" tires which indicate some compromise whether price, durability, wet grip, etc.

I've had the RS3's on my car for about a week now and so far I really like them. I'm non-staggered and the car is definitely needing a larger front sway bar.

If the weather fairs ok I might autocross it Sunday. If not I've got my eyes on an event in August.

In your opinion, are the RE-11 worth the extra money over the Star Specs? I really wanted to try a set of RS-3, but since I can't get them anywhere, I'm leaning towards the Star Specs. If the consensus is that the RE-11s are worth the price difference, I may try them.
