RS-3 vs Z1SS vs 595 RS-R vs RE-11 vs Z2 vs Rivals

R-S3's in the rain on the track did not serve me well. If it wasn't for VSA, I would've went off so many times. I was being as smooth as I could on the steering, braking, and throttle as possible. So if you happen to be running on a rainy day, I wouuld consider another option.

New tires... AD08s? I can't wait to get some new tires. I'm still on RE050s with 215/245.

updated with :drumrolls: RE-11!
Additional impressions tomorrow!
Also, I'm sore after yesterday's track day. I wasn't sore at all after the last Buttonwillow day with the Federals...

Sore? Interesting. What tire pressures? I have found the RE-11s ride noticeably softer than the stock RE050s. The RE-11s are also known to ride softer than the Yokohama Advans; so they give up some response for a better ride. I have found the relatively softer sidewall helps on rough surfaces. The Yokohamas would skip across the surface because their sidewalls are so stiff whereas the RE-11s would still grip. I have no clue how the RE-11s ride compared to RS3s or Federal 595s.

I wouldn't call the sidewall soft, but it definitely absorbs bumps in the road better without upsetting the car. I'm gonna be hitting the track again in about 9 hours, so hopefully I'll have a better impression
I started with 32 cold, which resulted in about 40 and 41. I dropped to 38, and then dropped to 36. IMO, 36 felt better than 38, but YMMV.

FWIW, I ran Mosport a week and a half ago in the wet and in the dry with 205/55-16 Star Specs with ~4/32 tread depth remaining up front and brand new RS-3's in back. Handling balance was fine both in the cold/wet and in the warm/dry. The RS-3s have the same quality I love about the Specs in the wet, they don't lose as much lateral grip when sliding as previous street tires I've tracked on. But, weirdly, the RS-3s did seem to lose a ton more longitudinal grip in the wet. Absolutely could not put the power down coming out of the slowest corner (5b). This is a 2nd gear corner in the dry, and in the wet I had to feather the throttle all the way around 5c in despite going much slower and in 3rd gear.
