How did you like the tires? I saw your pictures up on the track trim thread, car looks great.

Feel: Similar feel to the Toyo R1R but with better feedback and grip
Wear Pattern: Based on review on this forums, I ran more camber on these tires (3+) but I do see wear at the edge of the tires.
Heat Cycle: The grip level of session after the initial heat cycle is amazing! I did noticed that the tires had less grip after the 2nd session but not enough cost you lap times. (ie: driver error will cause more variance in lap-times)

The tires do seem to like higher air pressure at 37psi +. The grip level also seem to drop when tire pressure or temp gets high. This drop off is more noticeable then AD08s so it would be interesting to see how these tires hold up in the dry desert heat.

Great tires for the price!
I was at Buttonwillow same day as you. Used up my rears and was thinking about AD08's to replace them. But you think the RS3 is as good? Much less expensive, that's for sure.

We've ran the gamut of UHP street tires and RS3's have been by far the fastest tire we've run. AD08's and SS are next in line. IMO if you can afford the price premium don't run anything else but these three tires.

Edit: Have not run the RE11 yet. Supposed to be a great tire as well.
So Bryan, from your standpoint, you feel the RS-3's are the best performers all around, and the best price as well?

The RS-3 has the highest initial grip of the current top street tires, but they drop off in grip fastest as well.

Wow you guys are running around 38 psi with starspecs? I was running 32 hot at my last track event, is that too low?

Definitely going to be my next tire after my Star Specs wear out. I hope they don't raise the price!

Between 36-38 hot seems to be the general concensus

Good call on this one

I went to SV BW event on the Saturday after ES's SOW event on Friday (SOW was full and I didn't sign up earlier enough). Someone in a GR-STI flew (yes FLEW) off Riverside on the last session on the very first lap. I suspect he didn't get his tires up to temp and went in hot, got too much understeer, then lifted and got throttle lift oversteer... He then went off inside the turn and flipped his car 2-3 times - I saw it fly through the air at least 15 to 20+ feet. It stopped flipping when it hit the corner station barrier. They even brought the tractor out to "re-groom" the dirt to make it all flat again. I watched most of it as I was exiting bus stop.

I need to get a seat, harness, and harddog soon...

Don't quite explicitly say it, but implied, do you think the star specs are better in the rain than rs3s?
