1. oem hardtop vs aftermarket hardtop is only 10~15lbs? but both get better areo advantage already, the difference isn't big enough to penalize 1/4 points imo

2. i don't think there is much weight saving unless the whole car is replace with dry carbon fiber, like literally the whole car, cos all our panels are light (hood, fenders, bumpers) except trunk, the cost over performance ratio is just too bad and 1 single dry carbon panel isn't big enough to penalize 1/4 points imo

3. i think regular CR is only lighter from softtop removal vs an ap2, but i will vote penalty for AC/audio removal next year

4. weight scale is too much trouble imo, we've actually thought about it for this season already

i think the difference between better and avg driver is still more than 50lbs penalty

even a pretty good driver that can't drive consistantly within 0.5s every lap, i would say sometimes driving error could hurt more than 50lbs in TA, maybe only in a long race with a very consistant driver will show the difference of 50lbs
All this arguing over 30 to 50 pounds of weight (which is probably negligible), while this past weekend I found that an AP2 (Fil's CR) will be 0.463 seconds faster than AP1 (my MY2003) down the front straight of Buttonwillow, given the same exit speed out of sunset. The G2X comparison between the two cars was eye-opening for sure.

Sure is. I just love how planted the front feels.

By the way, anyone have a good solution for a roll-bar camera mount, now that my modifry one is useless?

What's most frustrating about all of this discussion, is that a hard dog item actually reduces seat movement - so those of us that are 6ft tall would be uncomfy driving with the bar installed.

And those of us who want the perfect solution - a decent thickness solid bar that allows soft-top movement, can't actually find an off the shelf solution.

I personally want mine welded in, because if i'm going to fit it, i do it so i can use it. But does anyone sell a 'safe' one that does come over the top of the window to the windscreen - do they hell

So frustrating.

Just installed my Harddog roll bar and Takata harness. I love it! The welds look great and fit perfectly. I'm 5'11 and there are no issues with my Sparco Evo seat.

Did you have the harness bar welded in lower?

Pics of set up.
