Roebling Road SCCA Autocross
Hey guys, just wanted let you all know how I did at Autocross today. First off it was a Blast, the coordinators and participants of the Buccaneer Region SCCA are amazing. Very friendly and they just want everyone to have a great time. I ran on my bone stock white 06 s2k, I didn't do as bad as I thought. The S2K handled amazingly and I had hardly any traction issues, granted I wasn't pushing her as hard as the others. Keep in mind this is the first time I have ever done autocross or any racing event.
My first Run I made 87.6, My buddy in his STF class GEO Metro ran a 86.5. Haha he's definitely a better driver than me. But each run I improved, which is what I am focused more on. I was able to pull out a 77.5. Sadly, I was the slowest B stock at the event but who cares about that.
Here Is my buddies GEO and My S2K.
My car isn't underlined but I am a couple below him. He beat me with the modifier.
During my 5th run I almost went off course, I was able to regain control of the s2k but this Cone was unavoidable. I ended up dragging it the second half of the course to the finish line. After the event, I was helping clean up and found it. They were nice enough to let me keep it

Happy to hear you enjoyed your first autocross! I saw your car but never made it over to talk to you.
I just retired as autocross chair at the end of last year after 9 years! Our motto is "if you're not here to have fun, you're in the wrong place!"
I had fun today as well. It's always a good day when I beat my wife! (It doesn't always happen....,)

I went to my first autocross in 14 years last month in NJ. I was a bit amazed and very impressed with how well it was run...and from what I can tell that seems to be the new norm. Lots of runs, good pace, and good course design. The organizers should be commended.
Also interesting is that the two biggest classes seem to be B/Street and STR with S2000s the most popular car in both classes.
