Great driving Mike. Next time I'll have to try staying in 3rd for a couple of those turns (After the roval and before the playground).

I was thinking the same thing, maybe 3rd is the better gear. Im sure I was over braking just to get it into 2nd, next time

Yeah, i was holding third in all the sections that everyone said they were dropping down to 2. With the exception of the tip of the penis turn and turns 3/4 that dump you into the infield, I was using third gear, but then started dropping into second because that's what everyone else was doing. I think third worked better for me.

^^ Well, I now have an offical data logger to see what works and what doesnt. This event I had nothing which really made it hard to see where I was time wise.

Writeup posted. Unfortunately, my SD card that had all the videos from this event is corrupted, so there will be no Event Recap Video.

Good writeup! I've said it quite a few times but I truly enjoy seeing the pics and watching the videos and reading the recap on these events. We just don't have this stuff in the Mid-Atlantic region. You guys are truly lucky to have events like this.

Chris Elders took the plunge into "Setup B": like Dustin, he ditched his fancy splitter and gigantic Voltex Type 7 wing in favor of R-compounds and a more reasonable Voltex 1S wing. A low-drag, high-grip setup would be ideal for ACS. However, his plan backfired on him when he realized that his new setup required the use of an OEM catalytic converter, choking the life out of his high-revving engine. He and his pit crew hustled to remove the CR lip so that he could reinstall a test pipe, and he immediately regained pace around the track, posting a Hail Mary 1:54.642 in his very last lap of the day.
Nice write up Nam.

I don’t think Ill have vid up anytime soon so here it goes.....the OEM cat. is CRAZY restrictive! I had no idea I would lose that much power lol
It felt like I lost 20WHP and no matter what I did, Albert would pull hard on me (lol , dirty minds) out of every turn. I struggled just to keep up and being girded behind the Subie, Albert and I struggled even more as he would slow our entry/exit speeds dramatically making it hard to make a pass on his higher HP car.

After I finally made a pass on the subie, a couple laps later, I ended up clipping a corner throwing off my alignment pretty bad (my car pulls right now). I thought I may have bent a rim as my car would shake at speeds above 115. My first session out (taking it easy) my car could hit 135 with no draft without issue. After my incident, my car wouldn’t break into the 130's at times

Session 2 I went to work on the car to ditch the cat and the CR lip. I checked the rims and visually they looked good decided that the car wasn’t going to change....EVAR haha..not doing that again.
In all, another great day. Even though I struggled and my setup wasn’t ideal at first, I think with proper alignment and the right driver, R-Comps would be hair faster. When competition is this close, you cant bring your "B" game when everyone is on their "A" game !

CVR....Aero and street tires, or keep my setup??!!....what to do.. Lol

ACS setup;
17x10 Rpf1
Voltex 1s
TP
NT01s
