Replacements for Stock Shocks
My S is my daily driver but I would like to improve the track day characteristics. I am not sure I know the difference between going to KWv3 or PSS9 shocks. They both are adjustable for height and stiffness. Could someone please explain to me the trade-offs of each? Also, are both of these a significant improvement over the stock shocks?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

I have kw v3 so most of my comments are aimed towards that. I switched from stock to these coilovers and used the KW recommended street settings. Using those settings these ride more smoothly, absorb more, and are very comfortable. However, they do not feel bouncy or overly soft.
The kw have more adjustment available. Comparing dyno readings of both the PSS9 really only has two settings (stiffer/softer). Other settings did not show a significant difference. The kw demonstrated a measureable difference between each setting. This comparison may draw you to one or the other based on your experience, knowledge, and goals.

If you're getting coilovers for the dampening adjustability get the V3s. If you want coilovers to slightly lower your daily driver and still be able to improve performance for the occasional track day get PSS's (no '9' fixed dampening). The PSS9 dampening adjuster is nowhere near accurate for track use adjustability compared to the V3's. V3's are a great dual use coilover, but if you're not hitting up the track several times a year I feel like they are a waste as far as capability goes. I am 110% satisfied with the PSS kit on my daily driver and I know there is no way to justify the added cost of the V3's when I got the PSS kit for around $800 brand new. I'm sure they will serve me fine when hitting up Nurburgring and maybe Spa this summer.
