Default Recaro Pole Position install question

I need to find out if this makes sense as I'm putting a Recaro Pole Position into my 05 S2k and am being quoted....

Pole position 650 (msrp).

seat rails $100

slider $50

Seat mount bracket to S2000 $149

bolts & hardware $20

My question is I'm fine on the Seat rails & slider, but did ANYONE have to have a seat mount bracket built for installation or fitment into their S2k?

That's what I'm curious about.

The searches I've done and going through the "gallery" string didn't yeild any major stuff. just trying to make sure.

TIA.

I got that setup for my Civic about a year back. The thing about the Pole position is that its a Side Mount seat. So you need 2 seat mount brackets to mount the seat to the sliders, then the sliders mount to the Floor bracket (Seat Rails). And the Floor bracket mounts to the Floor of the car. It will be the same situation for the S2000.

This was my seat, the bottom part is the Floor bracket. The one in the picture is a Sparco, the one from recaro will be better I think. Then the slider sandwiches between the floor bracket and the side mounts, and the side mounts hold the seat.

Hope this is helpful... I was confused when I got this setup, I didn't think that there were so many parts.

Oh, and prices sound about right... you could get the Seat cheaper, but... would have to shop around.

Sounds about right. My friend and I made custom brackets for my PPs and they were a bitch to make. Its worth the extra $150 anyways.

Hell yea dude.... I had to drill my own holes in the floor bracket to fit the Recaro sliders..... was a complete nightmare and it still didn't slide smoothly...

Where can someone buy all the brackets required to install those seats? I've been told by the guys at scienceofspeed that the pole positions don't fit into the S, I guess that is not true?

You can call any shop and they can order those parts for you, I recommend www.inlinefour.com they're located in SoCal and are very nice guys.

Yes I do remember SOS recommending a seat and slider package and I know it was not the Pole position. Honestly I think it will be a little wide for the S, at least to use the factory seat belt. I really think that setup is intended for a harness. However I don't know what the RECARO bracket and sliders look like, they may have a solution for the factory seat belt.

Just pick up some mugen bracket they are around 320-350 if you can get a good deal on it. It seem like the total would be around 300 for all that stuff anyways.
