Default Rear sway bar and autoXing

I have the CT adj. on the front set to the stiffest setting, now I am working on the back. I tried a larger one and that was a mistake for me as it made the back end want to lead around just about every corner. I now have the stock one back on and it's o.k., but I have heard that many good S2K autoX drivers drive w/o any rear sway bar. Can anyone tell me if this is true and if so, how does it help?

Are you running in stock class? If so, you can't change the rear sway bar, you can ONLY change the front. So if you put on an adjustable rear bar or a thicker or thinner rear bar, it will take you out of stock class.

I don't know about running w/o a rear bar at all, if that would put you in a different class or not. I'm sure someone here will know.

I see you're from Kuna Idaho, is that anywhere near Pocatello?

I am going to be running BSP next season, so no rear sway bar shouldn't effect my class standing. I just want to know if it may help me keep the backin tucked in a little.

Kuna is just slightly south west of Boise so we are a ways from Pocatello. I am not sure of the distance, but I know they are on the other side of the state. They are getting snow right now.

BSP?

shocks and more spring all around (600-900 take your pick based on shocks and how much you street the car), no rear bar and stock front bar

That would be my sugestion.

controlling body roll with spring instead of a sway bar on the drive axle CAN be prefferred. The sway bars limit suspension travel. When you unweight the inside tire , it will spin with the stock torsen (locked or clutch pack is diff).

If you can get the car to work without the rear sway, and stiffer springs, it MAY put down power better. Many SM M3's & ESP cars run no rear sway bar.

I know that I didn't answer your question, but I hope I helped. Does anyone run a BSP or SM2 s2k and what have you tried?

You're new here, we already know it puts the power down better.

We moved her last summer. The thing I miss the most, other then our friends, is track days. I had just started doing them in CA and there are no tracks here in Idaho.

Back on topic- I have Kg/ race springs on now, but still on the stock shocks. What shocks would people recommend? I have hope of getting 4.56 gears in a CT diff during the winter to help as well, but finances are dictating other wise.

If you're gonna keep the stock shocks I wouldn't recomend removing the rear sway-bar.
