Radiator w/ built in oil cooler
I am installing a Radiator w/ built in oil cooler. I am wondering if I should put a thermostat inline before the oil cooler to help it warm up faster or if it would warm up faster using the coolant in the radiator.
To others who have this, what have you done?
Hopefully this was posted in the right place. I assume people who read R&C are probably only people that would have radiators with built in oil coolers.

I bought it used, C&R made it and from what I understand there were only a couple made, but they can probably make more. I think PWR makes one too, both are very expensive.

More information, please.
Street driven?
Autocross?
Track?
FI?
Seasons (weather) used?
I'd probably do a thermostat. It doesn't really hurt anything IMHO and can decrease wear on your engine if you get it up to temp sooner.

Autocross? Yes
Track? Yes
FI? Yes - CT SC
Seasons (weather) used? not in winter.
Yea I think I will probably add it. I want the oil to get up to temp asap, was just thinking that since the cooler was built into the rad it would bring the oil up to temp sooner, but now that I think about it more, it probably won't.

most of the radiator/oil cooler combo I've seen (other than factory radiator / transmission fluid cooler combo) is a complete separate unit side by side. you can't heat up engine oil with coolant.
if you got the kind that intertwine like a factory combo (Nissan trucks use them), they have a tendency to fail when they age, causing coolant to lean into oil or vice versa.

There are literally millions of oil-coolant heat exchange systems on the road today. VW/Audi, Miatas, etc. Setrab, et al. make them for race cars, notably endurance racers and rally cars.
The crappy oem ones I don't care for on a race care because or potential leakage, but mainly due to the lack of surface area. The race ones have lots of surface, and with properly sized lines can work great.
