i read a post on Subi forum that Carbotech pads didn't work on RB rotors. he was getting lots of pads deposit which made a lot of vibration during braking. glad to see you're getting good results with these. i was considering getting them until i read that post on the Subi forum.

I didn't notice any difference in braking feel between these rotors and stock, they just lasted a lot longer and at least this time the failure mode (small crack through the outside edge) was less severe.

Hey Rob,
Nice writeup. I'll have to try the XR3s in the rear after I finish up the remaining sets (2) of rear XP 8 that I have.
The only thing I wonder about is whether it makes sense to just go ahead and get an entirely new set of rotors and hats for the additional $120 (instead of just rotors) since Al is a pretty fragile metal?
I have not heard of any hat failures yet but I wonder how many rotor replacements you can get before the hats need replacing?
23 events this summer and you used a single set of front rotors? That is phenomenal life! I ran a similar number of events each summer for the last couple years (along with an additional 10 -20 autoXes) but I always went through several sets of rotors (3-4 fronts and 2 rears each summer) with XP10/8s but I did not have any ducting.

Funny I cracked my right rotor this past week at summit. I just went again with the cheap rotors for $40 each as I am getting ~6 8 days from them... However I use Hawk HT10 for the pads.
thanks for the review
