I run the JDM BBS 16" wheels that are the same size as stock ap1's:
16" +55 front 6.5" 13lbs
16" +65 rear 7.5" 14lbs

They are a little thin but 225/245 Ra1's work ok and I can do autox in AS and track on the same wheels

C10 in 18x10 are ~22 lbs.

Same sized forged wheel from Rays is ~18.95 lbs.

Thats why I asked. I knew they were heavier then say volks in the same sizes....they are cheaper though

i run RE01R -225/50 all around

cheap to run, cheap to replace tires on, super light weight, kinda badass
I've been running something similiar for track days. For wheels I have both a set of Regemaster Evos (AKA Spoons that aren't black) as well as the Rota knock offs. The 225/50-16 RE-01Rs all around have been working pretty well in conjunction with my stiffer front bar and the rear wing.

For time trials I think I'll be using Toyo R888s again this year on the Evos, 225 in the front and 245 in the rear. I'd like to run 245 all around, but I'm not sure I have enough clearance.

i find the 225s all around with the cusco front and rear sway are almost ideal for stock power. (more or less = TP and spoon N1).

the car sure rotates more now but once you can predict it is almost perfect.

more power i would want more rubber back there but as is i am very competitive... even with more HP cars on R compounds.

So they aren't lighter and they really are not cheaper either.

To compare similar wheels you need to get a comparable powder-coated finish as the finish on a Rays or Volk wheel is hard to beat.

CCW at $700 per wheel and another $75 for the powder-coating make them $3100. Their anodizing and painting options while lighter than their powdercoating (~0.5 lbs. per wheel), are no where near as durable. Brake dust and road rash will tear them up, along with chemical cleaners. They will fade to a brownish color.

So...$3100 plus shipping and the finish cannot rival a Rays wheel IMO. At 3lbs extra mass per corner, sorry that's a deal breaker at any price point. The brakes have to work harder too, more weight more heat. And now the car is slower, as their is more inertia to overcome.

BUT, they are a solid compromise that most people can live with. It's like having a mild steel cage vs. a cromoly one. Both are functional, but cromoly is just how it should be done on a race car as the cages are more resilient.

Except that with Rays and Volks you can't get custom offsets to fit 18x10's on the car. The real reason we all use CCW is they are willing to custom make the wheels to whatever size and offset we want in quantities of one.

Volk's are what you see is what you get. Their is no way to fit a set of 18x10 Volks on the car with the offsets they have without using flares and spacers.

I don't think Volk makes and 18x10 with a high enough offset to fit stock fenders like the CCWs can. That's part of the appeal.

When I was doing research I found that the best compromise of weight, strength and money was the WedsSports TC105N. A 17x9+49 weighs in at 15lb 10oz per wheel. The offset is perfect for fitting 255s with the stock fenders and the price of the wheel was only slightly higher than that of RPF1s (although I think they are now in the Volk range). Its a proven wheel in the world of motorsports too.
