Default Race update: SCCA STU

Hi guys,

The weekend went very well as we broke the track record.

I also forgot to post the USTCC round 3 update here. Maybe because it didn't go so well, so I subconsciously forgot to post it here

Hopefully you understand and please visit my site for the race report. Yes, I'm straight forward trying to drive traffic to my site.

While you're there, click some of the link on the right, who I'm proud to call my partners and sponsors. Their products and help directly helped in my racing!

Of course, nowadays it is also about social media. If you guys are the type that need in the moment up to date, feel free to like https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=207988749230649 or friend me on Facebook.

Both video is up but since it is flag to flag, not much excitement.

Well done. It was a slippery track last weekend too.

The A7 is ultimately faster than A6. However we don't have a real back to back data since the weather changed dramatically.

I thought it was just me. Especially in the afternoon. I packed up and left right away after my race, I assume you got your problem resolved?

Thanks. Hopefully we can repeat the performance in 2 weeks. This time with a supercharger.

Andrie, how many heat cycles do the A6 or A7 tires hold up for? Hoosier sells them as Autox tires, so I was wondering how well they hold up on the track. I have been using Hoosier road race radials, but they are expensive. Also, right now they are only available in the 100 compound in the 265 size.

They are great for lighter weight, 2500lbs or under, cars. I've put about 15 HCs on A6s before they fell off. For road racing I would assume they're done after two races if you want to stay at the same level for future races.

I used A6s in 70 degree weather on the T3 car at 2850 min weight with driver. They were okay as long as you didn't overdrive or push really hard. I tried to run low slip angles and they behaved well. It was nice to know you could push it a little hard for a few laps to make position and then let them cool down as you settled in.

Thanks for the feedback. It gives me another tire option. There was a fast T3 S2000 at the New Jersey SCCA Majors Race last weekend. He was using Hoosier A7s.

Too early for me to answer that as I've only ran the A6 at 5 heat cycle and A7 at 4 heat cycle. They definitely drop off at every heat cycle after the third, but not by much. Looking at the tire wear, they probably good about 8 heat cycle. They also won't hold up very well at high heat and lots of laps. We did in 80 degree and it starts fo drop off after about 6 laps. At 14 laps it was sliding around. Not sure if they will last anything over 15 laps.

We can't run the 100 compound as we have to have DOT legal tires. Those experience are in circuit racing condition. Also with a car weight at 2600 lbs.
