Pick up right off the main oil galley that feeds the crank/rods... figured that'd be a great place to know the pressure of

1)I am using the 6 1/4 spin on.
2) that does indeed look like a great place to pick the oil pressure, however with this being a street driven car and the motor is still in the car, I think I need to try and find the afctory oil pressure sensor. i can either use those wire, and or adapt a mean of adding a second sensor????
3) I could remote mount a spin on??? as a last resort.

No one said they were looking for the "easiest" location... sometimes the easiest location isn't the best location.
Its not the end of the world to get the timing chain cover off though...
bruce: Who said anything about race cars? My car is still my daily driver as well, even with the oil pickup in that location

I apologize, and it DOES look like a good place to pick up pressure, and being creative perhaps temperature. Could you please give me an idea of what all is involved/how you determined that location as a oil gallery, etc.
What type of gage and why/where did you locate it?
thanks in advance...

Bruce: Whats involved, is just removing the timing cover, welding on more 'mass' to dril and tap into, since the stock cover is kinda thin in that area, and then reinstall with the sensor. and that is the main channel/galley that feeds the oil to the mains and then to the rods... i didn't do much to determine that, other than look at it, since its fairly easy to see what it does when you have the motor all apart
But as for everything else you want to know, just click the link in the post... it answers everything for you...
