Hey guys, I've destroyed my third S2000 replica lip at autocross. I'm wondering if anyone here has had issues with center punching cones at autocross with their CR OEM lips which have the upper mounting locations.
I did deserve this one as I center punched a laydown cone at 60mph. The problem with the replica lip is that there is nothing supporting the top of the lip so it can get dragged down and underneath the car. If hit at a high enough speed, the wheels catch it and you run it over. I usually run industrial sized zipties at autocross to keep them up, but they're unsightly... I took them off for a car show and forgot to put it back on for autocross. While the cost of the lip itself is cheap at $130 (used to be $100), paint adds up. Should I just get the OEM one and call it a day?
