Funny you say that... I'm budgeting 25k for going FI.... would be cheaper to get a vette and call it a day.

$6-$8k isn't going to get you many mods when you add in labor. My used motor swap and new clutch cost $6k.

If the head is ok, a new short block is $2700 from Honda. I would save the money for suspension if you havent upgraded it yet.

For $8000, get a Spec Miata and work on the driver.

Ya, might just do a long block swap, and get something with less miles (currently 81k) My CAI filter is right at the bottom of my bumper. The shop fixing the car said there is water thru out the motor, they said there was coolant in the cylinder chamber, they think I pushed a sleeve out... But are pulling the motot out today to break it down further to determine exactly what happened...

Can I put an '06 engine in my '04? what would I need to do to convert from DBW if anything?

take apart the motor. maybe you can just buy some used internals and fix it on the cheap plus labor.

going FI will cost a lot and just slow your development as a driver. keep it simple, keep it NA.
