Need advice in tuning suspension for Auto-X.. coilovers + fat rubber
I'm competing in ASP.. yes, i know.. suicide.. but currently, i'm 1 sec. off the current leader. I'm sure with proper suspension & alignment tuning, i can get even closer to the leader.
Here is my current setup:
-Tein RS double adjustable: compression is currently set at 4 clicks back from stiff (front), 5 clicks back from stiff (rear) ------ rebound, 1 click back from full stiff all the way around
-Hoosier AS03: front 225/45/17, rear 275/40/17
-Alignment: -1.8 front camber, -2.2 rear camber.. 1/16" toe out front.. didn't have time to check the rear.
-Elda bar installed, convertible top removed.
-haven't corner weighed the car yet, but will do soon..
-engine mods are the basic bolt ons.. intake, header, exhaust, bored out throttle body
so any advice will be great.. i'm still trying to figure the rebound part out.. i tried softening up the front vs. the rear.. the car became tail happy.. so that didn't work..

OK, here's what I would do:
Sell that good stuff and kick ass in Bstock.
If you can't bring yourself to do that, I would install a 4.77 final drive to compensate for the bigass rear tires. Next, I would install a supercharger to get some power.
As far as suspension goes, I can't really suggest anything because I haven't driven your car and you haven't told me what's wrong with it. Have you used a pyrometer to determine if you camber is working? Does the car push or oversteer excessively?

Not in ASP. Those would be legal in SM2.

Update/backdate is legal in SP. All Miatas from all years are on the same UD/BD line in Appendix A.
The 2003 Miata Club Sport comes with no soft top. Thus, they just "updated" to the Club Sport soft top, i.e., nothing.
Nowhere in the SP rules does it say you can remove the soft top.
I would get a rule book and read through it very thoroughly before going any further in modding your car. Building a legal car for an SCCA class is a very careful process.

I guess I should have looked at the ASP rules before I spouted off. I have not paid attention to any other class besides BS (what I run) and SM (what I used to run).
What I said about suspension tuning still goes.
