And don't feel bad, this is my Friday night ritual. Keeps us from spending money at least. The crew chief watches What Not to Wear, and I surf the forums.

OK, I understand now. I thought 17 minutes was a short race. So you didn't get into lap traffic til half way.

Now reading the NASA forums I now know who it was, mpowers. Who was the guy at CMP with the silver Z? And, whats the scoop on that RX8?

I don't remember a silver Z from CMP. I raced against Mike(mpowers-red 350Z) and a bunch a Porsches(class 944 Super). One of them was silver, and really fast until the last few laps when I think he blew up.

The RX8's all belong to ROAR Racing, of Koni Challenge fame. They are built to the specs of ST class, which I've been told is the equivalent of PTC. Regardless, they are classed in PTB with NASA. Normally I can beat them pretty easily. At Barber, two of their three cars were running at what I would call their normal pace, a little bit slower than me. They had one car that was fast, doing a 1:44.362 while I could only manage a 1:45.790. On Sat, it was driven by a 17yr old who's racing in the MX5 Cup, Josef Newgarden. On Sun, I'm not sure who was driving, but they were not quite as fast(only a tenth faster than me). These cars are normally either rented for the weekend, or the owner(Rob Whitener) and his family TT/race them.

Lucky for me, the fast RX8 spun on Saturday as he was pulling away, which gave me the win in class that day too.

Maybe it was a 944 I saw at CMP. It was my first event so I was a little busy/occupied.

Wow, lucky 17 year old.

Time for bed now.

Great racing Matt Way to get around the Z blocking the track How quickly were you putting distance on him after the pass? It looks as if your pace improved substantially, especially through the corners and braking zones.

Lap 15: 2.5sec.
16: .8
17: .6
18: -1.0
19: -.1
20: -.3

I was just cruising, trying to keep the gap steady and bring it home in one piece.
