Default NASA @ Buttonwillow apr 21-22

im lazy, dont like to read these rule books much, and to be honest not sure if i will continue with nasa events indefinetly. so i was hoping those of you with the experience can give me the cliff notes on the process and what i might encounter..

i am planning to participate with nasa in order to get my competition w2w license. i understand there are a few days i will have to sign up for including the school they make madatory. i know its going to be expensive.. etc.

i passed my initial clearance interveiw to participate in hpde/tt group which i assume is most like any hpde. ive heard nasa can be pretty strict with a one off ban? i try my best not to go off lol.

from this, i believe i am supposed to ride with an instructor for their recomendation to advance to the higher groups? and then wait for their approval to move on to the w2w classes?

if someone can fill me in on what i am missing here, please let me know.. also, am i required to pay for a nasa membership? the $45 is not a problem.

IM POSTING HERE BECAUSE I CANT SEEM TO GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE OVER THERE LOL..

thanks in advnace.

I e-mailed the head honcho of the NASA TT stuff. Even with whatever experience I had, I still need to run HPDE3 and eventually 4 before I can get signed off for TT. E-mail Greg and see where it goes. I think it takes him about a week or so to answer back to you.

You are approved you for the HPDE/TT run group. We'll see you at the track

Pretty much the same more or less. I had more questions on how to class my CR which is already +14 in TTC...if I even tried (monies in the bank go spraying in NASA's account), I'll be stuffed into TTB as the car sits now.

Request a non-miata instructor. I had a miata instructor for HPDE 1 and he kept saying "brake later" at a spot beyond my comfort zone. Once I did brake at the spot he wanted, I went off-roading at sunset. He replied, "Hmm, my spec miata can brake there, you must suck still. Show up like 3-4 more times and MAYBE I'll sign you off of HPDE 1."

Just sign up for HPDE4 if it's your first NASA event AND you have lots of track and or instructorship under your belt. If they have issues with it, they will give you a call and talk to you over the phone. Sometimes depending on your skill set, they'll start you off in HPDE 3, then 4, then TT.
